Foreground stays on your Mac.

The macOS app

Foreground collects no analytics, no telemetry, and no crash reports. Your licence key is verified locally on your Mac — there is no activation server. The only network request the app ever makes is checking for updates when automatic update checks are enabled in Settings.

Accessibility permission

Foreground only listens for its own keyboard shortcut (and Esc while active) and uses macOS Accessibility solely to read and set the position and size of the focused window. It never reads what is inside your windows.

Website & purchases

Checkout is processed by Stripe. When you buy a licence, we store your name, email address, Stripe order identifier, and generated licence key so we can email your key and resend it if you ever lose it. We never sell or share your information.
